On May 12th, 2012, We will be traveling to Pine Ridge reservation in South Dakota and collaborating with a church group from Texas who plans to bring a work force to repair some homes. Both our organizations plan to deliver a large supply of food and clothes to be distributed. If anyone would like to take part to volunteer in a very educational and fulfilling humanitarian odyssey by helping those in need, please contact us. You must be able to cover your own expenses. Financial Donation Legal Guidelines as Required by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS)   "The corporation shall at no time accept donations that impose conditions or restrictions set forth by the donor. The Organization may take into consideration suggestions offered by the donor as to how and when they would like their donations to be invested, used, distributed, etc. However, the Organization shall at all times maintain the ultimate control and discretion as to the investment, use, distribution, etc. of all donations it receives of which whether or not this coincides with the donor’s wishes.   Donors may offer advise regarding the use of their donations, but only towards our Organization’s programs, and so long as that does not deviate from our mission, federal and state nonprofit laws, etc.   This policy shall be fully disclosed to all existing and potential donors in all of the Organization’s materials (in all formats- written, oral, digital, etc.) that deal with donations (e.g., donation solicitations, brochures / fliers, advertisements, websites, donor agreements / contracts, etc). All donations IAW IRS 501(c)(3) guidelines will require donor “mutual negotiated agreements”.   The Organization shall further disclose all such donors that their contributions may be used only for charitable and/or other 501(c)(3) purposes and not for the direct or indirect private benefit of the donor, designated individuals, or other private interests." Many people see suffering in their own communities and throughout the world. They want to do something to help, but don't know what to do.

A TRUE humanitarian is to feed the hungry, to clothe the naked, to provide for the widow, to dry up the tear of the orphan, to comfort the afflicted, wherever we find them.

Do not send away any who were naked or that were hungry or that were sick...therefore be generous to all, having compassion to persons as to those who stood in need.

If you desire to help the needy North American Indians, you might consider the following practical opportunities:

* Give generously and often.

* Give generously to Indian Humanitarian organizations. All donations goes to help the poor and needy in Indian Country without regard to religion, age or disabilities.

* Donate usable items, including clean clothing, to non profit Indian organizations. Not only will this benefit the needy, but surplus items are sent to other reservations that are always in need. The purpose should be to donate to help those in need to become self-sufficient.

* Volunteer to work at non profit organizations warehouses or on any reservation. Your support will help to expand humanitarian aid.

* Volunteer at an agency that assists people in Indian country. Established community organizations offer many opportunities to serve, including providing meals to the less fortunate, building and repairing homes, teaching adults financial management, mentoring at-risk youth, etc. Such service not only blesses those in need, but also fosters unity between volunteers and the Indian community.

* Contact your choice of organizations to serve. Opportunities are available for anyone whose heart is to serve their fellow human being.
